What’s on in June?

Bloom (May 30th - June 3rd)

Bloom is an amazing annual gardening festival dedicated to garden designers, flower growers, landscapers, plantaholics, garden-furniture makers, food fanatics and anyone who loves to garden. It takes place over the June Bank Holiday weekend for 5 full days, 9am to 6pm every day, so if you’re getting into gardening it is the place to be!

Tickets are €30 for an adult or €25 for people aged 66+ and students - ID will be required at the entrance. Parking is an additional €10 per day.

Women's mini marathon (2nd June)

This is an inspiring event where the women of Ireland run a 10k race across Dublin. This will be its 42nd year running, and is the WORLD’S biggest women event. 

It costs €33 to enter, and a bit more if you want a t-shirt.

Even if you’re not running this year, it would be great to see from the sidelines. You can see the race route here.

Forbidden Fruit (1st and 2nd of June)

This is the capital’s first and longest-running city centre festival! It has run in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham for the last 11 years, and gets bigger and better every year.

Tickets are still available, and cost €175 for the full weekend or €99.50 for the Saturday.

Féile na Gealaí (7th - 9th of June)

This is a gorgeous festival, completely through the Irish language, in the heart of the Meath Gaeltacht. There are some great acts this year, and we can’t wait to see them all!

Tickets are €150 for the weekend (including camping!)

Cork Midsummer Festival (12th - 23rd June)

This is an arts festival that offers “exhilarating theatre, dance and music, trailblazing ideas, joyful spectacle and so much more”. 

It’s taking place all over the city, and you can check out all the incredible acts here. Some parts of the festival are free, and some you need a ticket for, so it’s best to check in advance.

Dalkey Book Festival (13th - 16th June)

This festival takes place over the third weekend in June. There are incredible speakers, workshops, and events year upon year. 

You can see the full programme here. Similar to the Cork Midsummer Festival, each activity is charged separately, so make sure to check!

Taste of Dublin (13th - 16th June)

This festival is a foodie’s paradise! This year it takes place right in the city centre, on Merrion Square. It gives you an opportunity to learn from famous chefs, try new foods, and really experience all that Ireland has to offer on the culinary scene. You can see the whole schedule here.

Ticket prices vary depending on when you wish to enter. There are two entry times each day: 12:00 - 16:30, and 18:00 - 22:30.

Thursday or Friday during the day: €18

Saturday during the day or any time Sunday: €26

Thursday evening: €30

Friday or Saturday evening: €32.50

There is an additional €2.50 booking fee for each ticket.

Dublin Pride (June 29th)

The fiftieth anniversary Dublin Pride March takes place on Saturday, June 29th, 2024. If you are taking part as an individual or with a group of friends, there’s no need to register. You can just rock up on the day and join in at any point on the route past O’Connell Street!
